Why Drinking Tea In The Morning Is Good For Your Health

In fact, many people believe drinking tea in the morning has health benefits.

There are many different types of teas: black, white, green, and herbal teas; all have their own special qualities and taste great.

1. Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism

Caffeine, the primary ingredient in tea, helps boost your metabolism. The caffeine gives you a little pick-me-up in the morning and can get your body running at 100%.

Caffeine is also found in coffee but if you’re not a coffee lover, then drinking tea in the morning is perfect for you. Tea has less caffeine than coffee but more than enough for your morning boost of energy.

Teas that are high in caffeine include black tea, green tea, white tea, and matcha tea. If you’re not a fan of tea, there are other options like matcha powder in Australia that have the same caffeine effects.

You can add the powder to your morning shake or mix it in with warm almond milk.

2. Tea Contains Antioxidants

Tea contains powerful antioxidants that slow down the rate at which free radicals damage your body. Free radicals are responsible for things like cancer and heart disease, so drinking tea can help prevent these diseases from developing.

Besides that, antioxidants are great for your skin, too – so drinking tea will not only prevent diseases but “beautify” you from the inside out.

3. Tea Can Lower Your Cholesterol

The antioxidants found in tea can help lower your LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels. The liver uses the antioxidants to make LDL cholesterol less likely to be deposited into your arteries.

On top of that, antioxidants help protect you from heart disease and decrease inflammation in the body, two things that make it easier for your body to fight off illnesses.

4. Tea Is Calorie-Free

Drinking tea is a great alternative to coffee because it is calorie-free! If you are trying to lose weight or looking for a guilt-free drink, then the tea is perfect for you. 

You can add sugar or honey to your tea if desired, but even so, you are still saving calories because the amount of sweetener added is far less than what goes in a cup of coffee.

5. Tea Can Boost Your Memory

Green tea contains a compound called L-theanine, which has been known to boost memory. In fact, some studies show that the theanine in green tea can actually help you pay attention better!

So if you feel like your lack of memory is causing problems for you at work or school, then drinking some warm green tea might be what you need.

Besides green tea, teas that are good for your memory are matcha, chamomile, and rooibos.

6. Tea Can Lower Your Stress Levels

Studies have shown that tea can help lower the stress hormone cortisol in your body. If you are constantly stressed, then this is definitely something you want to look into because chronic stress is linked to many health problems like high blood pressure and heart disease.

Drink a cup of tea in the morning to help your body relax and start your day stress-free.

7. Tea Can Boost Your Immunity

The different antioxidants found in tea strengthen your immune system and make it easier for you to fight off viruses. Black tea, for example, is a great source of the antioxidants catechins, which help prevent infections.

Green tea has a compound that studies have shown to be extremely beneficial to the body in preventing viruses like flu and colds. Other teas high in this substance include white tea, matcha, and oolong tea.

5. Tea Can Help You Sleep Better

For many people, drinking tea can help with sleep. Although drinking tea for a better night’s sleep is not a morning routine, it is still worth mentioning it.

There are certain teas like chamomile that create a calming effect on your body and put you in the mood for bed. Besides chamomile, lavender tea is also great for sleep.

If you’re looking for a morning boost of energy, the kind that doesn’t come with calories or side effects, then drinking tea is an excellent option.
